Hiking
If you want to go hiking in Tärnafjällen, there are many trails to choose from both those that are challenging and easy. Going out on one of the lakes that are close by is a wonderful day trip, bring a coffee and find your very own coffee shop. If you are going out on one of the lakes, be sure to inform yourself about the ice situation on the lake.
Cross-country skiing
Tärnaby offers fantastic cross-country skiing opportunities. Our trails of either 3.3 or 5.0 kilometres are prepared early in the season and are well lit. You will also find a daylight trail of 11 kilometres. The trails start from Vikmyra ski stadium where there are waxing rooms, changing rooms and toilets. You can easily reach Vikmyra ski station on foot, or take the car and park next to the tracks.
Downhill skiing
Tärnaby Alpint is part of Hemavan Tärnaby, the largest ski resort in northern Sweden. We offer outstanding skiing in fantastic mountain scenery, both for those who want to enjoy with loved ones, and for those who want to throw themselves down our slopes with the aim of becoming the best in the world.
Cross-country skating
The lakes around Tärnaby are many and so are the options for good skating during the skating season. Why not come to Tärnaby when the ice has melted and combine cross-country skating with weekend fun with family and friends.

Scooters
Snowmobiling is part of Tärnaby. Here you have plenty of trails and exciting snowmobiling to explore. In Tärnaby, the snowmobile trail is usually just a short distance from the trail that takes you out into the mountains. Remember to respect nature and others who spend time in the mountains and take responsibility for your snowmobiling - together we can protect the unique nature that exists.
Don't forget to buy a trail pass before you go out and you will be contributing to the maintenance of the trails and safer snowmobiling in the mountains.

Winter fishing
Mountain fishing in the winter is something that just has to be experienced, pulling a nice char out of the hole is something very special. In Tärnaby there are many fine fishing waters to explore, both those close by and those further up the mountain.
