Travelling with a guide
The mountains around Tärnaby and Hemavan offer many great tours, in most weather conditions and with varying degrees of difficulty. P3 ski shop offers tours for intermediate and good skiers. You don't need to have worn skins before, but you should be able to handle untracked terrain.
Guided hikes on Saturdays
P3 ski shop in Tärnaby, together with some of the best guides in the area and in co-operation with Tärnaby Fjällhotell (?), offers guided tours on Saturdays. The guide plans the tour depending on weather and snow conditions. Examples of tours are: The different sides of Ryfjället, Mortsen, Vallentjåkka and other tours on Norra Storfjället.
You will need
- Own ski equipment - can also be rented at P3 Skidshop, needs to be pre-booked.
- Own rucksack.
- Packed lunch with hot drinks.
- Reinforcing clothing (down jacket, woollen sweater), extra mittens (both thin and thick), hat, buff, ski goggles, sunglasses, helmet, avalanche backpack with shovel, probe, tranceiver can be hired on site.

Groups can book their own guide by prior arrangement.
We also organise simpler summit tours for those who want to try summit skiing for the first time. The same set-up and equipment, but at a slower pace and less steep. We teach you how to handle the equipment, on and off with crampons etc. These tours go on Laxfjället or Gurkfjället.
